The Foundations of Revival
The modern church is in a miserable condition. All who lament our deplorable moral and theological condition must learn to pray for revival. But unless we are careful, our prayer for revival will simply become part of the problem. Revivalism is not revival, and neither is a scheduled week of nightly meetings. What does the Bible teach?
Editor's Note
This issue we are introducing a new feature of Credenda/Agenda. In the past we have featured quotations from various sources, along with an article on a selected theme. We shall continue to cover various topics this way, but in this issue we are adding three regular columns, the themes of which will remain constant.
God has established three basic governments among men, and these three columns will supply biblical teaching on each of the three governments. One column will address the Bible's teaching on civil government, and related political issues. The name of this feature will be Magistralis. A second column will deal with family government marriage, child-rearing, family issues. It will be called Husbandry. The last regular column is on church government, and will be called Presbyterion.
We trust that the teaching will be relevant, and of benefit to you. If there is any particular issue you would like to see addressed, please contact us and let us know.
