The good folks associated with the Orthodox Christian Information Center web site have dedicated plenty of time and space to responding to our issue on Eastern Orthodoxy. Our current interests and commitments don't allow us to respond in detail, but perhaps we'll dedicate a future issue of Credenda to these topics once again.
The overall impression we get from their essays is that they say many things with which we agree, but they assume we're typical modern evangelicals. Other times, they will defend themselves against our charges by denying them and then defending them, such as the charge of hellenism. Other times they will make grand assertions without support, such as the Patriarch Kyrillos essay. In other places, we just find their arguments to fail, especially in their attempt to institutionalize iconographic idolatry.
