Musica
1.C /A is sponsoring a coloring contest of a picture of Praetorius
(see hardcopy or pdf). Submissions must be postmarked by January 31. All
submissions become the property of C/A. The winner will receive a CD of music
by Michael Praetorius. Sorry, "In dulci jubilo" is not on the album, but there
are six motets from Musae Sionae represented, as well as some fine dance music
for your next ball. You will, however, need to learn how to
caper.
Liturgia:
1. The quotation marks indicate that the positions I describe
as "Catholic" and "Protestant" represent tendencies, and amount to caricatures. I trust, however, that the caricatures capture some actual features of
competing baptismal theologies.
Eschaton:
1. Iain H. Murray, The Puritan Hope (Carlisle, Pennsylvania: The Banner
of Truth Trust, 1971), xxi-xxii.
2. Greg L. Bahnsen, Victory in Jesus (Texarkana, Arkansas: Covenant
Media Press, 1999), 92-93.
3. Benjamin B. Warfield, Biblical and Theological Studies, ed. Samuel G. Craig (Philadelphia: Presbyterian and Reformed, 1952), 485. The essay is dated 1886.
